Sean Stanisz (he/they) is an interdisciplinary performer and artist advocate whose creative expertise explores the full scope of the production process from dramaturgical/performance research, makeup artistry, drag, vocal performance, theatrical acting, and more. As a recent graduate of Wayne State, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and a minor in Gender, Sex, and Womxn’s Studies, their artistic philosophy was able to expand beyond the stage and broaden towards the vast, diverse world of humans around them. During their time, he was a Peer Mentor for the College of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts (2019-2020), who supported a collective of incoming students while promoting social and academic growth on an individual and collective level. Additionally, he became a founding representative of the Theatre and Dance Student Advocacy Collective (2020-2022), which in collaboration with students and faculty, promotes academic equity that reflects theatre and dance students of all identities and abilities. Most recently, they performed as Pythio in WSU’s Head Over Heels (2022), as well as creating production marketing that educates viewers on gender identity and pronouns. They are so excited about this opportunity with étude to collaborate with other creatives and promote the growing excellence of Detroit artistry.
